Adams Receives Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week Honor

IRVING, Texas - Senior libero Jessica Adams was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week for the fifth time this season, the league office announced Monday.
For Adams, the Tulsa career digs leader with 2,339, this marks the 14th time in her four seasons that's he has the won the award. Adams ranks third in C-USA history in career digs, as she needs 60 digs to overtake Tracey Lam of Rice for second-place in league history.
In Tulsa's C-USA regular season title clinching 3-1 win over Rice on Friday night, Adams collected 25 digs and added three service aces. Adams was served to 32 times and did not commit a reception error. In the Hurricane's Senior Day sweep of Houston, Adams recorded 13 digs, which was tied for the team lead. On the week, Adams averaged 5.57 digs per set and 0.43 service aces per set, and did not commit a reception error in 49 total attempts.
"Jess has had a tremendous year," commented Head Coach Steven McRoberts. "This is a great way for her to end the regular season as we move towards the C-USA tournament."
Tulsa returns to action on Friday in the Conference USA Volleyball Championship held at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. The Hurricane will face SMU in a noon affair to kick off the three-day tournament. For ticket information, click here.
