IRVING, Texas - Senior Tyler Henderson was named the Conference USA Player of the Year for the third straight year, while senior Jessica Adams was honored as the conference's Libero of the Year for the second consecutive season, the league announced today.

Henderson joins Kelly-Anne Billing of Marshall (2004-07) to win the league's player of the year award three consecutive times. For Adams, she joins Rice's Tracey Lam, Houston's Jaci Gonzalez and Cincinnati's Trish Ladusaw as the only players to win back-to-back libero of the year awards.

Henderson is second in the nation in kills averaging 5.09 per set and is third in points per set with a 5.58 clip. She is also the C-USA career leader in total points with 2,583.5 and is second in league history in total kills with 2,417. She has eclipseed the 20 kill mark 53 times during her career, and has won Conference USA Player of the Week 17 times during her career.

Adams paces the league with a 5.15 digs per set average, which also ranks 46th in the nation. She is the Tulsa career leader in digs with 2,339, and is 113 digs away from pacing Gonzalez for the top spot in league history in total digs. The first player in school history with more than 500 digs in four straight seasons, Adams is also fourth in school history with 115 service aces during her career.

"One of the things that we talked about on senior day with all of the seniors is that we didn't feel like it was an ending," Head Coach Steven McRoberts said. "As much as we want to celebrate Tyler's career and Jess's career, we want to keep in mind that they are not done yet. They are still leaving their mark."

Tulsa will host the 2012 C-USA Volleyball Championship November 16-18 at the Donald W. Reynolds Center. The Hurricane will kick off the tournament on Friday when it will host SMU in a noon tilt.
