Jason Malay joined The University of Tulsa as assistant athletic director for marketing in June 2017 and was promoted to associate athletic director of revenue generation and fan engagement in May 2019.

Malay came to Tulsa after three years at the University of Northern Colorado, where he spent the first two years as director of sales and the last year as the assistant athletic director for revenue development. Malay was responsible for marketing and revenue generation of five ticketed sports, primarily in group, season and premium ticket sales as well as fundraising and sponsorship.

Before that, Malay spent four years at Wichita State University in the office of marketing and game operations. He first started as an intern, then as a graduate assistant and in August 2013 was promoted to social media coordinator. During his tenure, Malay created and implemented the national award-winning #WATCHUS marketing campaign for Shocker athletics.

Malay earned his bachelor’s degree from Fort Hays State in psychology in 2009, and received his master’s degree from Wichita State in sports management in 2012.
